Last night the high school play let out just as the storm that hit Dallas earlier in the day was hitting us. As the kids and I were making our way home, I told them to watch the trees -that if they start to bend like crazy let me know. The rain was coming down so hard that I could only see what was directly in front of us.
Melissa's answer? "I'll just pray intently."
Me: Great idea! But one of the things I have learned in this life is that when it's your time, its your time.
Melissa: That does NOT comfort me!! I just prayer even more intently!!
William: Yeah...I'll keep on eye on the trees and one eye on God.
Thankfully, it was not our time and we made it back to our house safe and sound - and laughing...love how my kids make me laugh!

Yesterday, as the tornado sirens began to go off (We were sitting at the bus stop to get Bek.), N began to cry. He said, "Mom?!?! Can I pray for us?" He was terrified. I almost started to cry too, and I said, "Yes, Little Man, will you do that?"
And that boy began to pray! "God? You know I'm SO SO SO scared of tornadoes, and I know I'm supposed to trust you, but I'm scared and I want my family to be safe. So will you stop these sirens and these winds and get us home so we can be safe together? I'm scared, but I know you don't want me to be scared. I trust you, but I'm still scared."
Yep. Praying intently. :) I love these kids and their hearts for God....
